174 all out (36.1 ovs): ENGLAND THRASHED! Dernbach heaves across the line of an Ashwin offspinner and waves goodbye to his leg bail. India have thumped England by 126 runs, and have been magnificent.
172-9 (35.3 ovs): Shot! Finn looks anything but a tail-ender as he claims the first six of England's innings, honking Jadeja high over long on into the stands.
163-9 (33.4 ovs): ALL OVER BAR THE SHOUTING! After Finn and Patel plunder stylish fours apiece the brief good work is undone with an ugly heave across the line of Yadav's straight length delivery by PATEL. Awful.
148-8 (31.4 ovs): SWANN'S GONE! The shouty orange capitals are back, as Swann's left looking at the pitch quizzically after swishing across the line at Yadav's delivery and being scuppered by the low bounce! In comes Finn, with England needing 150 from 107 balls. Ah well.
148-7 (29.5 ovs) What a nice change to be able to write something without having to use shouty orange capitals. Swann's in to do his worst and picks up a quickfire four with a thick outside edge down to the third man boundary.
134-7 (29.2 ovs): THE COLLAPSE CONTINUES! It's BRESNAN who goes as Ashwin tosses the slower ball down leg side, swing and a miss and Dhoni does the rest with the gloves!
126-6 (26.4 ovs): BAD TO WORSE - BAIRSTOW GOES! It's another soft dismissal as Bairstow chips a return catch straight to Jadeja for his third wicket! Bresnan joins Patel (1) with an almighty task on their hands. Dismal stuff from England over the past five overs.
124-5 (25.5 ovs): BYE BYE BOPARA! It's unravelling big time for England! Ashwin sends him packing caught and bowled, a simple take as Bopara drives the slower ball straight back at him.
120-4 (24-4 ovs): TROTT'S GONE! Ignore what I said about him moving through the gears - he's been stuck in first, and now he's stalled spectacularly. He tries to sweep Jadeja but leg stump's clocked, gone for 26. Bairstow joins Bopara in the middle.
111-3 (22.4 ovs): COOK'S FALLEN! With Trott pulling up no trees at the other end Cook's tempted to take on some big shots. He looks to clear the boundary off Jadeja but Vinay Kumar snaffles the catch well under the lights at deep midwicket! In comes Bopara.
109-2 (22 ovs): Cook's helping himself to the odd two, but it's singles all the way otherwise with Trott on 23 and not yet having a sniff of the rope.
97-2 (19 ovs): Cook looks to sweep, there's a huge shout by Ashwin as it hits him but Cook's miles outside the line. Not a prayer.
91-2 (18 ovs): Boundary down the ground by Cook from an Ashwin full toss to end the over as England keep the scores ticking over. Sedate scoring from Trott at the mo, but when he moves through the gears...
91-2 (18 ovs): Boundary down the ground by Cook from an Ashwin full toss to end the over as England keep the scores ticking over. Sedate scoring from Trott at the mo, but when he moves through the gears...
77-2 (15.3ovs): There's a huge din inside the ground now as Hyderabad finishes work for the day and swells the ranks. Oooh, a Mexican wave! Trott and Cook continue their singlefest, until the latter gets a one-bounce four off Yadav which clips the fingers of Praveen at the rope, who's left with the face like thunder.
60-2 (13 ovs): Cook and new man Trott nick singles for a couple of overs, they'd have helped themselves to more but for some impressive diving from Rahane and Raina at mid on and mid off.
53-2 (11ovs): Apologies for the four missing overs but... PIETERSEN HAS GONE! With a wonderful sense of timing my laptop died, just as KP was run out. He nudged to mid on and set off, but fielder Ashwin was on it in a flash and his shy found Pietersen inches short. It went upstairs, and the huge cheer told us the rest.
35-1 (7 ovs):A mundane couple of overs after that brief flurry of fours - a single apice to Cook and KP off Vinay Kumar, then five dots from Praveen Kumar before his last delivery sits up outside off to be slapped past cover for four by Pietersen.
29-1 (5 ovs): Much more like it! Sixteen from the over including three fours - an edge to third man by Pietersen, then a flick through midwicket by Cook to belatedly get off the mark and a trademark late whipcrack cut. Delicious.
13-1 (4 ovs): Pietersen isn't allowed to settle as Vinay Kumar's surprise short ball rears up and strikes him on the bicep. The next is very full and dug out uncomfortably. The pressure is relieved very slightly as the bowler then strays on to KP's pads and is tucked away down to fine leg for four.
7-1 (2.2 ovs): KIESWETTER GONE! Very good ball by Kumar, in the corridor with a hint of away movement. Kieswetter has a nibble at it and Dhoni drops to his right behind the sticks to take an awkward catch. Off goes the wicketkeeper/batsman for seven and in comes KP. Hmmm.
7-0 (2 ovs): An opening maiden from Kumar, which isn't the best of starts when you need six an over. Kieswetter is off the mark from the eighth ball though as Vinay Kumar is dispatched through mid-on for four.
Eng 0-0 (0 ovs): Still no Sky commentators as they've not been able to sort out their contract loggerheads with the host broadcasters. We haven't heard the last of that little tussle, I expect! Cook and Kieswetter are out in the middle. England need to score at a slither over a run a ball. Praveen Kumar opens the bowling.
300-7 (50 ovs): A very good final over from Dernbach, apart from one wide. Three successive twos off mis-hits, then a swing and a miss by Dhoni and only a single from the final ball. The over features a bit of argy bargy between Kumar and Cook too about the former's running down the middle of the pitch. Umpire Bowden intervenes. Nonetheless, India will be delighted to have turned around a very sluggish start to that innings. Raina's 61 started the resurgence before passing the baton to Dhoni (87no from 70 balls) to crash the ball about in the last 16 overs. It's a formidable target for England to chase. Under the new regs, the mid-innings break is half an hour. So, we'll reconvene at 1425 if that's convenient for you? Thought so.
292-7 (49 ovs): Oh. My. Word. Really thrilling stuff from Dhoni. Holding his bat way down the handle and striking the ball so cleanly, he mullers Finn for successive fours - the first is straight back past the bowler, the second creamed through the covers. He's on to 77 from 63 balls. Here's the final over from Dernbach.
282-7 (48.2 ovs): WICKET! Well done Steven Finn. After being carted for another four over long-on, he scampers through to pick up a Dhoni block and chuck the ball at the stumps as Ashwin unsuccessfully scuttles up the pitch to complete the hasty single. Kumar is in a No.9 for the last eight balls.
276-6 (48 ovs): Eight off Bresnan here including an inside edge by Ashwin that just misses the timber and rolls to fine leg for four. India getting a bit of luck in these latter stages. Finn to bowl the penultimate over...
268-6 (47 ovs): Eight runs from Dernbach's over including a genuine edge through the vacant slip area off a good slower ball. Prepare for the final surge now.
260-6 (46 ovs): OUT! Dhoni blocks a Bresnan yorker but momentarily loses his bearings and calls for a single. There's a classic 'yes, no, sorry' as Jadeja comes halfway down the track and is sent back. Bresnan picks up the ball and hurls down the non-striker's stumps brilliantly. Jadeja isn't even close. His brilliant cameo is over to the tune of 27 from 22 balls. Ashwin is next.
258-5 (45.3 ovs): Ooooh dear. Pietersen attempts a routine sliding stop on the boundary, gets his timing all wrong, and the ball goes through his grasp and over the rope. He bows his head in apt shame.
250-5 (45 ovs): KER-POW! Jadeja wallops Patel for successive sixes - the first struck straight over the sightscreen, the second picked up from outside off to deposit it over long-on. The left-hander roars to 25 off 20 balls. And this isn't even a powerplay, remember. Five overs of punishment left for England in this 30 degree heat.
236-5 (44 ovs): A 42nd ODI half-century for Dhoni! His scoring rate has ascended rapidly and his 50 comes up from 48 balls. The captain wields his bat like a samurai sword to lace Bopara over extra cover for four, and he passes the landmark with two off the final ball of Bopara's third over. This has been a storming Indian revival.
220-5 (42 ovs): More frustration for Finn as a well-directed short ball flies off the top edge of Dhoni's bat and over Kieswetter's head for a one-bounce four. The skipepr is on 39no from 40 balls.
Ted, Bristol:Fine use of the Powerplay by India, Raina really is a class act. Finn expensive as ever, but does get key wickets!
209-5 (40 ovs): Jadeja may be new to the crease but he whips out a classy shot straight away, whopping Dernbach through mid-off with exquisite timing for four. That's the end of the powerplay. Men scamper to the boundary in numbers.
195-5 (38.5 ovs): GONE! One big slog too many from Raina, who skies one with another big old heave-ho to Finn. Bairstow is underneath it and has plenty of time to fret as the ball plummets towards terra firma. He does well to hold his nerve and take the catch. Raina is gone for a fine 61. In comes Jadeja.
195-4 (38.5 ovs): Proper carnage now. What idiot said India would only get 220-230!? Finn's ninth over begins with two successive powerful fours from Dhoni, then a no-ball for a high full toss. Then... another six! A huge smack over extra cover, just clearing the fielder and the rope. But almost inevitably...
179-4 (38 ovs):Yowzers! Top shot by Raina, playing through the line to Bresnan's length ball to send it high into the stand for the first six of the match. That brings up his 18th ODI fifty from 52 balls, just one ball after racking up the fifty partnership with a one-bounce four.
165-4 (37 ovs):A few big shots beginning to emerge from the locker now we're into the powerplay. Dhoni whips his feet out of the way to mash Bresnan's full delivery past extra cover, then Raina tucks into Dernbach's full toss. Dernbach began the over with two wides.
150-4 (35 ovs): Now we're talking. Dhoni cracks Bopara past backward point, then Raina plays a beautifully timed drive past long-off for four more. Eleven from the over. now, under the new rules, the batting powerplay must be taken between the 16th and 40th overs. We're in the 36th now, so India have to take it. Cue frantic directing and arm-waving from Cook to his out fielders.
137-4 (33 ovs): After drinks, Bopara comes on for his first over of the game. Dhoni and Raina can elicit only two from him. With India's pop gun attack holding no fear, England will fancy their chances of chasing what's likely to be a target of around 220-230. Swann's finished his 10 overs. One wicket for just 35 runs. Fantastic again.
135-4 (32 ovs): Ye Gods! A boundary! Raina breaks off the shackles to charge Swann and loft a beefy chip over extra cover, plopping inches short of the rope and just a couple of strides out of reach of the fielder. Raina has 29 from 35 balls. Can India finally find some momentum from here?
126-4 (30 ovs): India's frustration at not being able to get the ball away almost costs them as Raina is lured into a lofted drive by Swann. He mistimes it to such an extent that it falls well short of the inrushing man at deep extra cover.
123-3 (28.5 ovs): KP TAKES IT THIS TIME!All is forgiven between Patel and Pietersen now as KP takes a fantastic jumping catch right on the rope at deep extra cover off Kohli's lofted drive. He did really well not to over-balance back on to the rope as he landed. The Indian fans' delirium at what they thought was going to be a six quickly evaporates into near silence at comprehending the catch. Very funny. Kohli can't quite believe it but eventually trots off for 37 off 63 balls. Dhoni is next in.
114-3 (26 ovs): Just before that contentious non-run-out (it was out - his bat was on the line. The 34th replay has convinced me), Pietersen was guilty of a shockingly slack piece of fielding on the rope, offering only a limp one-handed attempt at stopping a slog-sweep from Raina off Patel. Not what you want to see as a bowler. KP didn't look particularly contrite.
113-3 (24.5 ovs): Now then, Raina is given not out! This was a miraculous escape. Kohli mistimes his drive slightly and sends it straight back down the wicket. Bopara dives on it and, like Finn earlier on, gets the merest flick of a finger on the ball before it crashes into the base of the non-striker's stumps. Has Raina grounded his bat over the line in time? It's SO close. After a very long look by the third umpire, it's given not out. With every replay, I grew more and more convinced that his bat wasn't down. The host commentators Ravi Shastri and Matthew Hoggard (yes, Sky's own commentators are still barred from going on air in this contractual tussle) disagreed. That could certainly have gone either way.
107-3 (24 ovs):Some signs in this Swann over that India's batsmen have decided to use their feet more and be a little less cautious. Still no boundaries, but eight from the over.
94-3 (22 ovs):Coming up to halfway and it's been really tough going for India. A slowish pitch with some uneven bounce has produced only five fours from the opening 22 overs. Kohli has 22 off 36 balls, Raina five of 12.
87-3 (20 ovs): Raina gets away with skying a drive off Dernbach, with the backpedalling Finn not quite able to get there at long-off. The batsmen scamper two. Finn himself comes back on for Bresnan, changing ends as he does so.
79-3 (17.5 ovs): BREAKTHROUGH FOR DERNBACH!Gambhir goes for 32 from 33 balls. Just one ball after a narrow escape in which a leading edge dropped just in front of mid-off, the left-hander is trapped in front of leg stump by a Dernbach slower ball which strikes him on the full as he tries to dab it behind square leg. Billy Bowden's crooked finger goes up after a huge appeal. Suresh Raina is next.
76-2 (17 ovs): A poor throw to the wrong end scuppers any chance of a potential run out of Kohli, then not one but TWO sloppy throws (from Bopara then Pietersen) combine to gift India a single. All a bit ragged in the field from England thus far.
72-2 (16 ovs): The new rules state that the powerplays can only be taken between the 16th and 40th overs (presumably an attempt to liven up the traditionally rather humdrum middle period of an innings). For reasons best known to himself, Cook waits until the 17th to take it. Why the one over delay?
66-2 (15 ovs):Gambhir gets fed up of all this dabbing and blocking and charges Patel's final ball, lofting it perilously close to Bairstow at deep midwicket. He seems to pick it up late and can't adjust his body to get anywhere near taking the catch. The ball goes for four - the first for 7.2 overs.
59-2 (14 ovs): Sky pictures may have returned, but we're not getting Sky's commentators. We've got the hosts broadcasters instead, who include one Dermot Reeve among their number! A welcome return to the UK airwaves for the disgraced former all-rounder. Slow going from India. They only scored four boundaries during the powerplay, and have scored three runs in each of the four overs since it ended.
52-2 (11.4 ovs): WICKET FOR SWANN! Guess what? On comes Swann and takes a wicket in his first over, for the 365th time in his career (or thereabouts). Rahane's dog's dinner of an innings is over as he's beaten in the flight, skips down the wicket and misses. Kieswetter does the glovework and the opener's gone for a dreadful 15 from 41 balls. Virat Kohli is next.
47-1 (10 ovs):Dernbach comes into the attack to replace Bresnan - just three conceded off his first over. Rahane faces five of the six balls and just cannot get going - 11 from 32 balls now. Nine wides so far from England's bowlers - seven of them by Finn. Sloppy.
39-1 (8 ovs):Gambhir is hogging the limelight here, reaching quite a way outside off to poke Bresnan's wide ball away to the rope, then putting both moobs into a big heave to send the ball through the legs of a rather embarrassed Pietersen in the deep. Gambhir has 14 from 14, Rahane eight from 24.
26-1 (6 ovs):Gorgeous shot by Gambhir, using a tiny bit of width as Finn angles across him to bullet a drive through cover/point. Previous ball, a good sliding stop on the rope had forced Rahane to settle for three runs from a nice square drive.
19-1 (5 ovs):The relief at finally having TV pictures from which to commentate is tempered by discovering that cliche factory Ravi Shastri is on mic duties. I've now seen a replay of that Trott drop at slip and I'm afraid it was a shocker. Straight into his lap, spilled.
17-1 (3.5 ovs): WICKET!Every batsman's nightmare dismissal - run out backing up at the non-striker's end. Rahane drives Finn straight back at him, the lanky bowler stretches down and gets the merest flick on the ball with his fingertip as it crashes into the stumps at the bowler's end. Parthiv realises the situation too late and can't ground his bat in time. Run out for nine. Hard cheddar old chap. Gambhir is the new batsman.
16-0 (3 ovs):Bresnan over-pitches on Parthiv's pads and is flicked mightily away through the leg side for four. Oh, hang on, WE HAVE PICTURES! Common sense is restored and the contractual nonsense is evidently at an end.
8-0 (2 ovs):Dropped catch by Trott at slip! Finn takes the second new ball (remember there is a ball at each end under new ICC regs coming in for the first time today) and entices a genuine edge from Rahane, but Trott grasses it. How 'bad' a drop it was, I've no idea. "Expect TMS listening figures to go through the roof! What an embarrassment for Sky," says Fred in London. Indeed.
4-0 (1 ov):Bresnan slips down the leg side and deflects off Rahane's pads to long leg for a couple. Another two singles and we're up and running. This commentating blindfolded is rather intriguing. Anything could be happening. Bresnan could be sat on a good length scoffing a curry and I wouldn't know. I'll just have to keep bringing you educated guesswork until Sky relent to the Indian big wig's disgraceful contract brinkmanship.
Ind 0-0 (0 ovs):Well then. No pictures on Sky due to contract wrangling so I bring this to you via the medium of telepathy (or rather Five Live Sports Extra). Bresnan will open the bowling. Parthiv Patel and Ajinka Rahane are opening for India, so Gautam Gambhir will bat at three.
0930:Now then. This should be a laugh. A very sheepish Ian Ward introduces Sky Sports' coverage by saying that a local dispute in India means they cannot show any live pictures from Hyderabad! Ward says they're hopeful it will be resolved before the game starts. You may have to follow the game via the live scorecard above until someone out in India puts the plug in! Jimmy Anderson and Rob Key, in the studio, can barely suppress their smirking. I'll keep you updated. What I CAN tell you is that India have won the toss and will bat first. Jonny Bairstow replaces Ian Bell.
Bairstow is the man on everyone's lips after he hit a stunning 53-ball century in England's final warm-up match on Tuesday. That and his unbeaten 41 from 21 balls in the final ODI in September has persuaded the selectors that the Yorkshireman has to be included.
The rest of England's XI pretty much picks itself, with Steven Finn and Jade Dernbach atoning for the absence of Jimmy Anderson, who is rested for this tour. India are without Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Zaheer Khan and Munaf Patel. Gautam Gabhir returns to his role as opener, while Parthiv Patel and Ajinkya Rahane are likely to start. Rookies Varun Aaron and Umesh Yadav will get a bowl at some point in the series.
We'll have news of the toss and confirmed team news at around 0930, then live commentary from 1000.
